Training & support

You buy a system, not a signboard.

A franchise fee that buys a logo and a price list is not worth paying. Here is what the franchisor actually does, before you open and every month afterwards.

What the franchisor actually does

Initial training

Battery technology and the Novax® range. Hands-on testing and fitment with our master technicians. Safety, environmental compliance and used-battery handling. POS, CRM and inventory. The Xpress five-step counter flow. HR, payroll and disciplinary basics. Financial controls and the daily cash-up.

Field operations

A regional Operations Manager on a published visit schedule — weekly in months one to three, fortnightly to month twelve, monthly after that. Field training for every technician you hire; we do not let an untrained technician work the bay.

Technical and IT support

A technical line for fitment, warranty and AGM diagnostic queries, and a helpdesk for POS, payments and CCTV.

Marketing

National brand campaigns funded from the marketing levy. Always-on search and social, geo-targeted to your catchment. A launch campaign for your opening. A trade programme for the mechanics, tyre fitters and panelbeaters in your area. A replacement-reminder cycle run off the CRM.

Procurement and supply chain

We forecast, order, ship, warehouse and replenish. You order against published lead times. A rolling stock pipeline absorbs shipping delay and currency movement.

The Franchisee Portal

The live Operations Manual, every form, every brand asset, the training library and the artwork approval queue.

Before you open

Nobody opens a store without fitting batteries first.

Initial training runs for two weeks at the Alberton flagship for you and your core staff, and it is not a slideshow. You will spend a substantial part of it in the bay, under a master technician, fitting real batteries to real vehicles.

The classroom half covers battery technology and the failure modes, the Novax range, safety and used-battery handling, POS, CRM and inventory, the counter flow, complaint handling, HR and payroll basics, and the financial controls and daily cash-up that keep a cash retail business honest.

Every technician you hire afterwards gets field training from us before they work the bay. That is not a courtesy; it is a condition.

The pre-opening sequence

  1. Classroom induction — brand, range, systems, compliance.
  2. Workshop shadow — hands-on fitment under supervision.
  3. Business operations — VAT, PAYE, payroll, banking, B-BBEE.
  4. Marketing launch planning and local trade introductions.
  5. Dry-run trading at your own store, with mentors on site.
  6. Soft opening with a brand team in store, then the Grand Opening.

Supply chain

One pipeline, controlled end to end.

Novax is our own brand, sourced direct, warehoused in Alberton and replenished to your store against published lead times. You place an order; we deliver. No third-party distributor stands between you and the stock, and none of them takes a slice of your margin on the way.

A rolling inventory pipeline — in production, at sea, and in the warehouse — is what absorbs shipping delay and currency movement so that your shelf does not go empty because a container was late. Volume rebates negotiated centrally improve as the network grows, and they flow through the network rather than staying at the centre.

Lead time is the real operational risk in this model, and we would rather you heard it from us. Imported stock means a long feedback loop between a forecasting error and an empty shelf. The rolling pipeline is the mitigation. Ask about it in the qualification interview and ask the Alberton team what actually happened the last time a container ran late.

Audit

We will check, and you should want us to.

A brand is only worth the fee if the store two provinces away is held to the same standard as yours. Quarterly brand and operations audits, a monthly external mystery shopper, and annual safety, IT and POPIA audits. Findings become a corrective action request with a named owner and a deadline.
